People, impact and purple energy at Databricks Data + AI World Tour, London
For Unifeye, the Databricks Data + AI World Tour London was more than an event, it was an experience. A mix of learning, connection, and growth.
The week kicked off with our executive dinner on Wednesday evening, which flowed into the main event on Thursday, and ended on a high with the unforgettable Databricks After Hours boat party, where we were proud to be the Platinum sponsor. Read on to hear some reflections from a few of our team about their day and all they learned.
Bianca Stratulat, CDO
“I always look forward to the Databricks World Tour, not just for the incredible product announcements and new features, but for something even more powerful: the people. Every time we attend, it pushes our whole team a little outside their comfort zone, and that’s where innovation really happens.
I’m proud of our team for truly embodying that spirit.
Hasnat stepped up to vlog the experience, capturing authentic, in-the-moment reflections.
Jordan made meaningful new connections in the Databricks community, building relationships that will last beyond the event.
Danny was in his element, talking to prospective clients about how Unifeye helps organisations unlock value from their data.
Dave, our Head of Delivery, led conversations about delivery roadmaps and aligning with the latest Databricks capabilities.
Raman immersed himself in Unity Catalog deep dives and architectural best practices, ready to bring that learning back to strengthen our frameworks.
Personally, I packed my schedule: keynotes, a hands-on Agent Bricks session, and inspiring customer talks from Future Anthem and the NHS, two organisations close to my heart as I’ve been involved with them before.
What resonated most wasn’t just the technology, it was the reminder that access to data is ultimately about better decisions and human impact, not just ROI.
Events like these can easily get caught up in hype cycles of features and breakthroughs, but what truly stands out is the community energy, the conversations in the hallways, the shared excitement for what we’re all building together.
The Databricks World Tour reminded us that innovation isn’t only about platforms and pipelines, it’s about people.”
Jordan Begg, Senior Data Engineer
“The Databricks Data + AI World Tour event in London was a great day full of energy and excitement around a company that has a lot of momentum. And that is one of my main takeaways from the event, that Databricks as a company is already a market leader, but it is innovating at great pace, with new, valuable features entering general availability in the coming months.
The most exciting new feature for me is Agent Bricks, which aims to make the development of production-ready AI Agents possible through the use of natural language queries. This will help close the gap between what companies want to implement and what they are able to achieve, as, at the moment, around 90% of AI projects fail to make it into production. It’s a big problem to solve and one that will create a lot of value for many companies.”
Hasnat Abdul, Senior Data Engineer
“As a recent joiner to Unifeye with a deep interest in Artificial Intelligence, the Databricks World Tour London was an unmissable opportunity. I was excited to join the team there, but my personal goal was to see the cutting edge new AI tools, and the tour certainly delivered. The Agent Bricks demonstrated the potential for AI perfectly.
My main hope for the day was to attend the talks from Databricks and key partners like Google/Gemini and Anthropic/Claude. I wanted a clear understanding of how these major players are integrating AI capabilities into the Databricks ecosystem, and how we can potentially leverage that power for our clients.
The clear standout session for me was the Agent Bricks demo. It demonstrated the integrated capabilities for building robust AI agents. I always mention that integrating Generative AI capabilities can be slightly clunky however – seeing this seamless fit within the existing Databricks environment is incredibly promising and will unlock immense value for our customers.
Beyond the formal talks, I really enjoyed visiting the interactive Databricks booths. Seeing data and AI being used on the spot was a highlight, from the image-to-avatar demo to the driving simulator, which cleverly demonstrated core streaming concepts in Databricks. It was also invaluable to talk with others in the Databricks ecosystem, sharing thoughts and learning from each other’s perspectives on these new technologies.
I left the event genuinely excited about the future. Our primary next step is to prepare for the release of Agent Bricks. We plan to actively explore and define use cases for our customers, ensuring we can leverage these new tools to bring maximum value out of their data. The key takeaway is simple: the convergence of the Lakehouse and these powerful AI frameworks makes the opportunity to deliver transformative solutions clearer than ever before.”
Raman Gupta, Head of Architecture
“I was thrilled to have attended the Data + AI World Tour London 2025 as Head of Architecture at Unifeye! The energy, from the ‘Unifeye purple team’ at the packed keynote, was electric.
Key takeaways for me confirmed Databricks’ vision for the future:
- Keynote Highlights: There is massive excitement from us and the ecosystem for Databricks One, AgentBricks, and the impressive Agent Demo.
- Enterprise Scale: I loved seeing the practical, enterprise-scale application of Databricks, particularly the insights shared by key leader Maggie Chung from Barclays.
- Deep Dive: The 90-minute AgentBricks session was excellent, providing a clear demonstration of integrated capabilities for building robust AI agents.
The networking was fantastic, I met so many industry leaders and genuine practitioners at all levels. We continued the conversations at the boat party, discussing everything from starting a Databricks journey to building advanced GenAI RAG applications.
The key takeaway was: Unified Datbricks platform with AI frameworks is going to make transformative solutions a reality for any industry.”
Final Reflection
The Databricks Data + AI World Tour was a reminder of why we do what we do – helping organisations see data differently. Yes, we left inspired by AgentBricks and the power of AI. But even more so, we left inspired by each other, by the community driving this next chapter of innovation forward.
